Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda addressed a public meeting in Uttam Nagar in New Delhi on Thursday. Shri Nadda strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government and Arvind Kejriwal for the rampant corruption in Delhi, stating that the very person who entered politics claiming to fight corruption has broken all records of corruption. During the event, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, Lok Sabha MP Smt. Kamaljeet Singh Sahrawat, BJP National Co-Media Incharge Shri Sanjay Mayukh, Assembly candidate Shri Pawan Sharma, and other senior leaders were present.
Shri Nadda stated that the enthusiasm, excitement, and energy seen among the people of Delhi is a clear indication that the public has made up their mind to remove the 'AAP-da' and form the BJP government. In the last 10 years, the way the AAP has indulged in corruption and caused hardship for the entire city, it is fair to say that this "AAP-da" government has broken all records of corruption. Such a corrupt government has never been seen before. The biggest irony and sorrow is that the person who entered politics in the name of fighting corruption has himself broken all records of corruption. If we talk about the 10 years of this "AAP-da" government, they promised education, but instead they got caught up in a liquor scam. It was no small scam; it was worth ₹2,800 crore. These "AAP-da" leaders promised free water, but today, how many homes actually receive water? And even if they do, is it clean water? They also embezzled ₹28,000 crore in the Delhi Jal Board. To ensure this scam didn’t come to light, they didn’t even allow an audit. Moreover, they handed over the water supply to tanker mafias, leaving the people of Delhi at their mercy.
BJP National President stated that in the health sector, these "AAP-da" leaders promoted Mohalla Clinics, but in those clinics, they conducted fake tests and embezzled ₹65,000 crore. They deprived the poor of their rights and embezzled ₹300 crore in medicines. AAP leaders don’t indulge in small scams, but rather in large ones, making the "AAP" a true "AAP-da" in Delhi. These people gave fake medicines to the poor. They talk about schools and classrooms, but in those very classrooms, they embezzled ₹1,300 crore. They boast worldwide about the discussion around Delhi’s schools, perhaps because such a massive scam took place in those schools. ₹500 crore in panic buttons, ₹5,400 crore in ration cards, and ₹4,500 crore in the purchase of buses in Delhi—there is no sector left where they haven't indulged in corruption. Whatever you think of, you will definitely find a scam there.
Shri Nadda stated that Aam Aadmi Party leaders had promised to install CCTV cameras in every lane, but to this day, no CCTV has been installed, and instead, ₹571 crore was embezzled in the CCTV project. AAP leaders, who claim to be the well-wishers of the Muslim community, didn't spare the Waqf Board either and embezzled ₹100 crore from it. Arvind Kejriwal has exploited the public in every way possible. He has not spared any household, business, youth, elderly, or woman—everyone has suffered due to his actions. If there were a competition for leaders who lie on a national scale, Arvind Kejriwal would undoubtedly take the top spot. With his innocent face, he deceives the people of Delhi by telling lies, but now the people of Delhi are alert and will give him a fitting reply on the 5th of February. Before coming to power, Arvind Kejriwal claimed he would bring Delhi onto the world map and improve its image. However, today Delhi is filled with heaps of garbage in every lane. He has created mountains of waste, which he used to mention during elections to garner votes, but now he doesn't even have the courage to visit those areas. Today, Delhi’s drains are overflowing, and roads are waterlogged. Arvind Kejriwal has repeatedly promised to clean the Yamuna before every election, yet the river remains polluted. Even in this project, a scam of ₹7,000 to ₹8,000 crore has taken place. No new buses have been purchased in Delhi, and the ones currently running were provided by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Kejriwal has also betrayed Delhi’s sanitation workers, and every promise he made has proven to be false.
BJP National President stated that the people of Delhi, especially auto and e-rickshaw drivers, are struggling due to the broken roads. How they could earn a livelihood and manage their expenses under such conditions. If the people of Uttam Nagar want to change the worsening conditions, they must vote for the 'Lotus' symbol on February 5. All major developments in Delhi over the last decade have been made possible due to the efforts of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. By December 2025, 2,026 new electric buses will be provided to Delhi. Over the last 10 years, Delhi's metro network has doubled from 190 km to 400 km, with 135 new stations constructed. Key routes like Janakpuri to Krishna Park and the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor have seen significant progress. Additionally, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail project, an 82 km long, ₹30,000 crore initiative connecting Delhi and Meerut, has been launched under PM Shri Modi ji’s leadership, further bolstering connectivity and infrastructure. The ₹8,000 crore Delhi-Meerut Expressway will transform travel, cutting commute time to just 45 minutes. A total of ₹38,000 crore has been invested to enhance connectivity between Delhi and Meerut under the leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, making commuting more convenient.
Shri Nadda highlighted that the urban extension road connecting Alipur to Mahipalpur has been constructed at a cost of ₹3600 crore. The Dwarka Expressway, which will link Dwara to Khirki Daula, has been allocated ₹7500 crore. ₹920 crore have been invested in transforming Pragati Maidan into an integrated transit corridor. The Eastern Peripheral Expressway, a 135 km long road connecting Kundli border, Ghaziabad, and Palwal, has been built at a cost of ₹11,000 crore.
Union Minister highlighted the significant improvements in Delhi's infrastructure over the past decade. He pointed out that previously, severe traffic jams involving trucks plagued the route from Gurugram to Dhaula Kuan via Palam, especially after 8 PM, leading to heavy air pollution. Similarly, long queues of trucks extended from the Kundli border all the way into Delhi. However, the development of bypass roads now allows trucks to circumvent the city, minimizing disruption to residents. The 135km stretch of road, encompassing Kundli, Manesar, and Palwal, has seen an investment of ₹9000 crore. Such is a report card of the BJP government's governance. The people of Delhi have consistently shown their support by electing representatives like Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat and previously Shri Parvesh Verma. The BJP government, through its numerous development initiatives, has likewise contributed significantly to Delhi's progress.
Shri Nadda remarked that following Shri Pawan Sharma's victory on 5th February, the BJP will form the government in Delhi, and therefore, Delhi will become the most progressive city in the country and around the world. Today, under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, 25 crore people have been uplifted from the poverty line, this has been highlighted by the IMF and Niti Aayog. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has provided 80 crore people with 5 kg of wheat or rice and 1 kg of pulses, 72 lakh individuals in Delhi have benefited from it. While Kejriwal is constructing his ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has provided permanent housing for 4 crore people through the PM Awas Yojana, of which 30,000 homes have been constructed in Delhi. While Kejriwal spends ₹52 crores on building and renovating his ‘Sheesh Mahal’, including ₹10 crores on curtains, ₹8.15 crores on marble, and ₹9 lakh on a fridge, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is focused on delivering permanent housing to the underprivileged and has also fulfilled the promise of “Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Makaan”. It should be ensured that every neighborhood and household is aware of Kejriwal’s extravagance and misdeeds and on the 5th February, the people of Delhi will teach him a lesson.
BJP National President stated that Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has built over 11 crore toilets across the country, ensuring dignity and empowerment for women. In stark contrast, Kejriwal's focus has been on extravagant expenditures for his ‘Sheesh Mahal’, which everyone is well aware of. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is delivering water through taps to over 11 crore people nationwide, fulfilling the vision of ‘Har Ghar Nal, Har Ghar Jal.’ However, in Delhi, the situation is grim. The government has left residents dependent on water tanker mafias. Many areas either do not receive water or are supplied with contaminated water. Shri Nadda, as Health Minister, informed that 15,152 cases of diarrhea were recorded in 2022-23, and this number rose to 20,000 in 2023-24, all due to the consumption of unsafe water. Such a government, which plays with the health and well-being of its people, should not be allowed to remain in power.
Shri Nadda highlighted that under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the BJP government is providing an annual health cover of ₹5 lakh to 15 crore families, benefiting approximately 61 crore people across the country. However, Kejriwal has denied this benefit to the people of Delhi, depriving 51 lakh citizens of health coverage under the scheme. As the BJP forms the government in Delhi, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana will be implemented in the very first cabinet meeting. Furthermore, Delhi residents will receive an additional ₹5 lakh health cover from the Delhi BJP government, providing a total of ₹10 lakh in health coverage to ensure better healthcare for all.
BJP National President criticized the ‘AAP-da’ party, of spreading false claims that the benefits of ongoing welfare schemes will stop if the BJP comes to power in Delhi. However, under a BJP government, all current welfare schemes will not only continue but also be further strengthened to benefit the people of Delhi. Additionally, the BJP government will launch the 'Mahila Samriddhi Yojana,' providing ₹2,500 per month to women in Delhi. Gas cylinders will be made available for ₹500, and an extra free cylinder will be provided on Holi and Diwali. Kejriwal’s promises are such that, in Punjab, women have received nothing, and in Delhi, Kejriwal has only deceived the people.
Shri Nadda stated that under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, BJP governments in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Rajasthan have benefited women by issuing financial assistance through cheques. For senior citizens, those aged 70 and above, irrespective of income, will receive health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh for life. Pension amounts have also been increased—those aged 60 to 70 now receive ₹2,500, while those over 70 receive ₹3,000. Additionally, Atal Canteens will be established in every slum area, offering nutritious meals for just ₹5. Arvind Kejriwal claims that schools will be closed, but he must note that the BJP has promised free education from KG to PG in Delhi. Aspirants of competitive examinations will be provided ₹15,000 annually for preparations, and ITI and skill center students will receive a stipend of ₹1,000 monthly. Shri Nadda asserted, “Modi ki guarantee, yani guarantee ke poora hone ki guarantee.”
BJP National President stated that BJP Uttam Nagar Candidate Shri Pawan Sharma had earlier worked for the people and ensured essential facilities such as water in jhuggis, electricity, and sewage. However, after that, all work was halted, and new projects began, which eventually led to the arrest of AAP MLA Naresh Balyan under MCOCA. If the wrong government is chosen by the people, Delhi will move backward, but BJP is determined to take Delhi forward. Kejriwal has left no stone unturned in taking Delhi backward. Shri Nadda urged that on the 5th of February, the people of Delhi must vote for the 'Lotus' symbol and form a BJP government stating that:
