Press Release by BJP National General Secretary Shri Tarun Chugh
PM Modi and BJP are dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar's Vision while AAP and Congress are busy in appeasement politics : Tarun Chugh
Delhi: January 07, 2025 : BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, addressing the Dalit Swabhiman Sammelan in Delhi, launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for its corrupt policies and governance failures. Chugh stated that the upcoming Delhi elections represent a battle between development and destruction. While the BJP is committed to Delhi's progress, AAP has been ruining the state for the past 10 years.
Speaking on Dr. Ambedkar, Chugh emphasized that it is the BJP, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that has upheld and respected Babasaheb's legacy by working on the principles and vision he envisioned. He highlighted that the BJP dedicated the Panchteerth to Dr. Ambedkar, while Congress and AAP were busy playing appeasement politics and undermining the reservation system meant for marginalized communities.
Chugh remarked that, for the first time in India's democracy, a Chief Minister and his ministers are running the government like criminals from jail. He accused AAP of making false promises and indulging in corruption. Highlighting the liquor scam in Delhi, he said it has destroyed families and jeopardized students' futures. The Supreme Court has also termed Arvind Kejriwal as a prima facie offender in the liquor scam.
Exposing AAP's broken promises, Chugh criticized the Kejriwal government's failure to clean the Yamuna despite a decade of commitments. He said that instead of ensuring progress, AAP has turned Delhi into a gas chamber. By refusing to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme, AAP has deprived Delhiites of free health insurance worth ₹5 lakh. During the COVID-19 pandemic, while BJP workers served the public and sacrificed their lives, AAP abandoned the people to fend for themselves.
Chugh strongly condemned AAP’s neglect of the Dalit community, pointing out that the Kejriwal government neither constituted an SC Commission nor nominated a single Dalit member to the Rajya Sabha. In contrast, Prime Minister Modi has implemented several welfare schemes, including the construction of 1,665 flats for the underprivileged, providing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana benefits to 7 crore families, free ration for 80 crore people, and toilets for 12 crore households.
He also lambasted the Kejriwal government’s extravagant expenditure of ₹52 crore on a ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ which included ₹20 lakh for bathtubs and ₹48 lakh for curtains. Chugh called it a betrayal of public trust, remarking that while the entire nation was grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, Kejriwal was busy decorating his palace. He said AAP’s true motive is to deceive the public, consolidate power, and then betray their trust.
Chugh appealed to the people of Delhi to remove this “AAP’da” and support the BJP in bringing Delhi back onto the path of development.
