Union Home Minister and Minister of Co-operation Shri Amit Shah addressed a public meetings in Rajouri Garden and Trinagar, New Delhi on Saturday. In his address, Shri Shah urged the removal of the AAP government from Delhi due to its failure in delivering on promises and rampant corruption. He criticized Kejriwal’s misgovernance, including unfulfilled commitments like cleaning the Yamuna and improving healthcare. Shri Shah pledged that under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the BJP would provide free healthcare, education, and financial aid to women in Delhi. He urged voters to support BJP for a corruption-free future. During the event, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, , BJP National Secretary Mr Sunil Bansal, Lok Sabha MP Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, MP Mr Praveen Khandelwal, Assembly Candidate Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, BJP candidate from Tri Nagar Mr Tilakram and other senior leaders were present.
Shri Shah stated that the people of Delhi must remove the 'AAP-da' government to make garbage-free, ensure clean water and sanitation in localities, and transform Delhi into the number one capital in the world. For this, the people of Delhi must support the BJP under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Over the last 10 years, Arvind Kejriwal has misgoverned Delhi, indulged in rampant corruption and appeasement, and mismanaged the city.
Union Home Minister stated that Arvind Kejriwal is spreading fake news, claiming that the BJP will halt all welfare schemes for the poor. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji himself has assured that no welfare schemes for the poor in Delhi will be discontinued. It is Kejriwal who is spreading falsehoods. The promises AAP has failed to deliver on will also be fulfilled by the BJP in line with its manifesto. AAP has only engaged in deception. They have provided broken roads in the name of connectivity, carried out scams in medical tests under the guise of Mohalla Clinics, and turned Delhi’s streets into lakes during the rains. Kejriwal has done nothing else and has completely erased the concept of good governance.
Shri Shah said that Kejriwal had promised to shut down liquor stores in residential areas, but instead, he decided to open them near schools, temples, and gurudwaras, resulting in massive corruption and scams worth thousands of crores. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji took strict action by ensuring that AAP ministers involved in corruption were sent to jail. Kejriwal had also promised to clean the Yamuna within five years and take a dip in it. However, even basic arrangements for Chhath Puja are not made there today. When BJP karyakartas symbolically submerged an effigy of Kejriwal in the Yamuna to highlight the river's condition, even the effigy became filthy. The BJP isgarbag committed to developing a riverfront on the Yamuna, like the Sabarmati Riverfront, within five years. Kejriwal had further promised to double the number of hospital beds. He should show proof of even 100 additional beds if he has added any. But he won’t, because instead of improving hospitals, Kejriwal focused only on opening Mohalla Clinics and engaging in scams through them.
Union Home Minister questioned how Delhi’s poor are supposed to manage when Arvind Kejriwal has only opened superficial Mohalla Clinics that cannot handle surgeries or advanced tests like MRIs. While Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has ensured free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh for the poor nationwide, Kejriwal has blocked its implementation, depriving Delhi residents of this benefit. Once the ‘AAP-da’ government is replaced, the BJP will provide free treatment of up to ₹10 lakh for the people of Delhi.
Shri Shah remarked that Kejriwal had promised to provide clean tap water 24/7, but even after 10 years, there’s no progress, and it’s time to hold him accountable. Kejriwal also vowed to make Delhi pollution-free, yet today, elderly citizens are suffering from severe lung congestion caused by the city's worsening pollution. Kejriwal had pledged to make Delhi corruption-free, but now even Anna Hazare feels embarrassed that his former associate has been involved in corruption worth thousands of crores. Tanker mafias continue to operate in the city, and the promise of a garbage-free Delhi remains unfulfilled.
Union Home Minister further criticized Kejriwal for failing to deliver on his promise of building a sports university, as not even a single college has been constructed. Similarly, Kejriwal had committed to developing 47 fast-track roads and world-class schools, but over 50,000 students have left Delhi's government schools to seek admission in private schools instead.
Shri Shah pointed out that during Anna Hazare's movement, Kejriwal had promised not to form a political party, but within just two months, he did exactly that. After founding his party, he claimed he wouldn't support BJP or Congress. While the BJP never sought his support, he ended up aligning with Congress. Kejriwal had also promised to rid Delhi of corruption, but instead, he became involved in massive scams. He orchestrated a liquor scam worth thousands of crores, which led to the imprisonment of Delhi’s Education Minister, the Chief Minister himself, and others. There was a ₹28,000 crore scam in the Jal Board, a ₹5,400 crore scam in ration distribution, a ₹4,500 crore scam in DTC buses, a ₹1,300 crore scam in smart classrooms, a ₹571 crore scam in CCTV installations, and ₹52 crore spent on constructing Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal.’ Kejriwal demolished four bungalows to build his massive 50,000-square-meter ‘Sheesh Mahal.’ The lavish home is equipped with gates that open with applause, lights that turn on automatically, and curtains that open with a remote control—all funded by taxpayers' money.
Union Home Minister stated that over ₹15-20 thousand crores, meant for building hospitals, schools, cleaning garbage, and purifying the Yamuna River, were lost to scams and corruption. Such a corrupt 'AAP-da' government should not be given another chance to form the government. The people of Delhi have a chance on 5th February to vote for the 'Lotus' symbol and remove 'AAP-da' from Delhi.
Shri Shah stated that the BJP will provide ₹2,500 to every woman directly in their bank account. Every pregnant woman will receive ₹21,000 as financial aid, along with 6 nutrition kits. LPG cylinders will be available for ₹500, and one free cylinder will be provided during Holi and Diwali. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Yojana, ₹5 lakh will be provided for health coverage, along with an additional ₹5 lakh from the Delhi government, totaling ₹10 lakh of free health cover, along with free OPD and diagnostic services. The pension for senior citizens will be increased from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 per month, while pensions for widows and destitute women will rise from ₹2,500 to ₹3,000 per month. Atal Canteens will be established in JJ clusters, providing nutritious meals for just ₹5. Free education from KG to PG will be provided, and students from the SC and ST communities will receive ₹1,000 per month as a scholarship. Auto and taxi drivers will be given ₹10 lakh life insurance and ₹5 lakh accident insurance. Women will receive 6 months of paid maternity leave. Under the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Yojana, street vendors will benefit. Gig workers will be provided life insurance coverage of up to ₹10 lakh and accident insurance of up to ₹5 lakh. Ownership rights to over 1,700 unauthorized colonies will also be provided by BJP. There are 13,000 sealed shops in Delhi, and the BJP has initiated a meeting with lawyers to explore judicial options for reopening them. Markets owned by L&DO will be converted to freehold, and a phased implementation will be ensured.
Senior BJP Leader Shri Shah said that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the purification of all the holy rivers of the country has been done but Kejriwal could not clean the Yamuna of Delhi. Kejriwal ji, if you have faith in God, then go to Kumbh and take a dip, you will believe how much work Modi ji has done for the rivers. After 5 years of formation of double engine government in Delhi, Kejriwal will also get the merit of taking a dip in Yamuna. Kejriwal's government is giving shelter to Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, so this time after the formation of BJP government in Delhi, Bangladeshis and Rohingyas will be thrown out one by one.
Union Home Minister stated that Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi's promise is a firm commitment and a guarantee to fulfill every promise. Hon'ble PM had promised to build the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and after 550 years, on January 22, 2024, Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji performed the 'Pran Pratishtha' of Shri Ram Lala at his grand temple from his tent. He also built the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, secured the country's borders, brought terrorism to the verge of extinction, put Naxalism on the verge of extinction, and abolished triple talaq. Hon'ble PM has fulfilled such promises and will also fulfill the promises being made to the people of Delhi. In the past 10 years, Arvind Kejriwal did not fulfill a single promise. The people of Delhi should not be deceived by the false promises being made by the AAP and should place their trust in Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Shri Shah urged support for the ‘Lotus’ symbol and to form a BJP government in Delhi for the next 5 years on 5th February. BJP's double-engine government will make Delhi the best capital city in the world.
