Salient Points of Press Conference of BJP National Spokesperson Shri Pratyush Kanth
Today, Congress is running a school of corruption. The people of the country are troubled by this, and their entire theft is slowly being uncovered

ED's report showed that even after Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were granted bail, money laundering continued. The process didn’t halt with the court's decision, indicating that corruption has become a habit for them

Congress committed theft in the National Herald case through three methods: fake rent agreements, advance rent, and fake advertisements
****************
From 2010-11 to 2022-23, AJL received ₹142 crore as rent, of which ₹58.79 crore was advance rent. In reality, this rent was received from shell companies created for show

AJL claimed to have received ₹29.45 crore in advertisements between 2018 and 2021, but the newspaper had already shut down in 2008. Notably, ₹15.86 crore of this amount came from Congress-related entities, while ₹13.59 crore came from other organizations

From the Jeep scam to AgustaWestland, Congress has mastered the art of corruption

The Gandhi family grabbed ₹2,000 crore worth of property by paying just ₹50 lakh. They didn't even consider why this prime land on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg was allocated to National Herald

Congress workers should not question the ED, but rather ask Rahul Gandhi where and why the public's money went. Congress party workers should protest outside Rahul Gandhi's house. This property was given to run the newspaper, not for the Gandhi family's earnings.

In Himachal, the Congress government allocated ₹2 crore to newspapers that didn’t exist, no magazines, no publications. This advertisement was also given when this corruption case is in the court, the accused are out on bail and ED is investigating.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Pratyush Kanth addressed a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday. During the briefing, Shri Kanth asserted that money laundering in the National Herald case continues unabated, even after Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were granted bail. He alleged that the Congress party has kept the wheels of corruption turning through three deceptive methods: bogus rent agreements, fake advance rent transactions, and fabricated advertisements. These methods, he claimed, make it abundantly clear that for the Congress, corruption is not an exception but a way of life.
Shri Kanth emphasized that this issue strikes at the heart of the values and sacrifices of our freedom fighters—individuals who poured their hearts and souls into the vision of a free, fair, and honest India. According to him, the National Herald case stands as a betrayal of that noble vision, showing how a party once built to fight colonial rule was hijacked and repurposed for the personal gain of a single dynasty.
He alleged that the Gandhi family managed to take control of property worth ₹2,000 crore by paying a paltry ₹50 lakh, which, in his words, shows just how deeply entrenched their corrupt mindset is. They didn’t spare a thought for the intent behind the land’s allocation at the prestigious Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. “For them, ethics have always taken a back seat,” he remarked.
Shri Kanth didn’t mince words while referring to Robert Vadra, remarking sarcastically that “he appears to run some kind of business school—invest ₹3 crore and walk away with ₹57 crore! Even Harvard Business School doesn’t teach such tricks.” He further claimed that Priyanka Gandhi’s paintings are being sold for crores, adding that from the Jeep scam to AgustaWestland, the Congress has turned corruption into a fine art. “Today, the party resembles a school of corruption, churning out scam after scam,” he said.
Although investigative agencies and courts may take time, he noted, the long arm of the law eventually catches up. “This isn’t the Gandhi model of development—it’s the Gandhi Family Model of Loot,” he said, referring to the alleged ₹50 lakh transaction for assets worth ₹2,000 crore. “They assume no one is watching, but they’ve misread the mood of the nation. This is Naya Bharat, where every shady deal leaves a trail and every guilty party will face the music.”
Shri Kanth accused the Congress of gaslighting the public by holding press conferences and claiming, “no money came in, no money went out, so how could there be money laundering?” He rebutted this, saying the issue lies in how the money was routed, how shell companies were propped up like cardboard cutouts, and how funds were shuffled around to create the illusion of legitimacy.
Even more alarming, he said, was the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) report, which claims that money laundering continued even after Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were granted bail, showing that the pattern of corruption is not a one-off blunder but business as usual for the Congress.
Breaking it down, Shri Kanth highlighted three main avenues of embezzlement:
1. Fake Rent Agreements – AJL received ₹38.41 crore as advance rent from various entities, without any legitimate rental basis. Leaders reportedly admitted to being asked over the phone by senior Congress figures to send funds, despite having no ties to the properties in question.
2. Bogus Advance Rent – Between 2010-11 and 2022-23, AJL received ₹142 crore in rent income, of which ₹58.79 crore was paid in advance, again without valid agreements. According to him, these payments were mere smoke and mirrors.
3. Fabricated Advertisement Revenue – AJL claimed to earn ₹29.45 crore from ads between 2018 and 2021—even though the publication ceased in 2008. Of this, ₹15.86 crore came from Congress-linked groups, raising the question: Where were these ads published if the paper didn’t exist?
Shri Kanth also pointed to Himachal Pradesh, where ₹2 crore was spent on advertisements despite the absence of active newspapers or journals, calling it a glaring example of systematic loot under the Congress watch.
He urged Congress workers to redirect their protests not at the ED or BJP but at Rahul Gandhi’s doorstep. “They should be demanding answers about where the public’s money vanished, and why the assets meant for national service have turned into private real estate,” he said.
In closing, Shri Kanth remarked that over the decades, the Congress party has honed the craft of corruption, with one scandal after another. What started as a movement of patriots, he said, has morphed into a monument of dynastic entitlement and power abuse. Rather than upholding democratic values, Congress has, time and again, used institutions as shields to cover its own tracks. “For a country moving toward transparency and good governance, this legacy is nothing short of troubling,” he concluded.
