Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and MP Dr. Sambit Patra addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi, on Wednesday. Dr. Patra criticized the Congress and the INDI alliance for their disregard for the Constitution by approaching the Supreme Court with a fake narrative about discrepancies in EVMs and allegations against the Election Commission. He also condemned the opposition INDIA bloc for their disrespect towards the Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President of India by issuing a notice of no-confidence motion.
Dr. Patra stated that the political discourse has been disrupted. While India's Parliament is making progress in discussions on the Constitution, it is evident that the intentions and actions of the Congress party are not aligned with the principles of the Constitution. There is no respect for the Constitution of India, either in their functioning or in their words. Since this morning, we have seen two prominent news items in the media. Firstly, Congress and some constituents of the INDI alliance plan to file a PIL in the Supreme Court regarding EVMs and the Election Commission. Secondly, a notice of a no-confidence motion has been given against the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and Vice President of the country, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji. Both these developments are disturbing and appear to be aimed at undermining the Constitution of India.
BJP National Spokesperson alleged that the Gandhi-Nehru family has connections with George Soros and is involved in a conspiracy to destabilize the country by accepting funds from the Soros Foundation. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and the entire Gandhi-Nehru family are involved in the conspiracy. When this matter has been discussed both inside and outside Parliament and when it was raised, the Congress party and some of its allied parties proposed a no-confidence motion against Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji to divert attention and distance themselves from the matter. Recently, the BJP revealed Sonia Gandhi's ‘Forum for Democratic Leadership Asia Pacific Foundation,’ which was funded by George Soros. The foundation aimed to separate Kashmir from India. When this issue came up, discussions on the no-confidence motion began.
Dr. Patra expressed disappointment over the Congress party's actions, pointing out their history of using offensive language also against the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Similar disrespectful words were used against the Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu as well, and the BJP had repeatedly conveyed to the public about these incidents through press conferences. The Congress party plays the ‘caste card’ while frequently using derogatory terms like “Janata Latth Se Maaregi” and “Neech Aadmi” to target Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, an OBC leader.
BJP National Spokesperson remarked that derogatory comments were made by former Leader of Opposition from Congress, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, about Smt. Droupadi Murmu, a daughter from the tribal community from Odisha. Recently, before Smt. Murmu even took her seat, Rahul Gandhi was already sitting in his, showing no respect or courtesy to the President. The Congress party talks about caste while disrespecting the son of a farmer and a man who belongs to a humble background. They disrespect Shri Dhankhar by bringing a no-confidence motion against him.
Dr. Patra highlighted that Congress and its allies know they lack the numbers and this motion will fail. However, for the first time, a party is daring to bring such a notice against the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Jaats are patriotic and they have sacrificed their blood for India's independence. Today, Congress is making baseless allegations against a “Jaat” Vice President, attempting to tarnish his reputation. A Jaat farmer’s son never bows down, and the honor of the Jaat community will always remain strong and unshaken in India.
BJP National Spokesperson emphasized that from filing PILs to bringing a no-confidence motion against the Vice President in Parliament are all merely attempts to divert attention from the Nehru-Gandhi family's ties to George Soros. Recently revelations have been made regarding OCCRP and Sonia Gandhi’s connection to FDL-AP and the attempts to lead Kashmir down the path of separatism. But today it has also been revealed that Fori Nehru, originally from Hungary, married B.K. Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru’s cousin and India’s former Ambassador to the U.S. However, Fori Nehru had a strong connection with George Soros, and the Nehru-Gandhi family maintained this correspondence even after her demise. ‘Anti’ India activities have been rooted in the Gandhi family for generations, from the time of Rahul Gandhi’s “anti (aunty)”, Fori Nehru. To hide this history, the Congress party is acting against the Constitution, but the people and Parliament will hold them accountable.
Dr. Patra noted that the Congress Party and some of its allies have decided to drag the Election Commission and the EVM system to the Supreme Court following the election results in Haryana and Maharashtra. It is surprising that the Congress Party repeatedly raises the issue of EVMs in the Supreme Court, only to be rebuked each time. Despite consistently blaming the Election Commission and challenging it in the Supreme Court, the Congress Party ends up facing embarrassment. On November 23, after the Maharashtra assembly election results were declared, the Election Commission held a press conference showcasing the transparent conduct of the elections, with the entire process recorded on CCTV. Despite this, the Congress Party is once again approaching the Supreme Court on the matter, demonstrating its disregard for the Constitution.
BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Patra highlighted that on November 26, 2024, a PIL was filed by KA Paul on behalf of the Global Peace Initiative. The Supreme Court dismissed the case, remarking that Congress accepts election results when it wins, but complains when it loses. This year also the Election Commission organized a hackathon to allow anyone to demonstrate how an EVM could be hacked, but no leader from Congress or the entire INDI alliance participated in the event. Additionally, for the first time, the opposition in the Rajya Sabha has issued a notice for a no-confidence motion against the Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman.
