BJP General Secretary & Spokesperson Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today that the Lok Sabha Elections of the new century will take the country in the direction of developmental thinking.
Shri Naqvi said that the approach towards developmental thinking will not only over-ride the narrow divisive boundaries of Pseudo-Secularism, Communalism, Socialism, Communism, Casteism, Regionalism but will also provide the necessary direction to the polity of the country.
Shri Naqvi said that it is for the first time in the history of Indian democracy that the opposition parties and in particular the Congress Party is finding itself helpless on account of lack of concrete issues and in the face of the achievements of the government. As a result of this, the Congress Party is not being able to match the role as the principal opposition party.
Shri Naqvi said that over the last few months people have started rejecting the Congress Party on account of its policies and negative thinking of its leadership towards the country's development. This explains why people have lost confidence in the Congress ruled states. The situation of the Congress Party is bad even in the states which are having elections for the Assemblies. He said that all surveys that have so far been conducted are unanimous about the National Democratic Alliance coming back to power and Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee's leadership, policies of the BJP and stability provided by the NDA Government are being approved by the people of the country in the backdrop of the uncertainty that prevailed five years ago about coalitions being able to provide a stable government.
Shri Naqvi said that the first elections of the new century will be fought on the issue of peace and not war and in an atmosphere of progress and not tension. Prior to this, there always existed some issue in some place or the other which diverted the focus of the elections away from the main issues. This time while the BJP and its allies are approaching the people with actual achievements and NDA Manifesto, the opposition on the other hand is only speaking in the air without any concrete issues.
Shri Naqvi said that the surveys is a source of satisfaction for the party but not for generating a sense of overconfidence. Till the verdict of the people is given, the party has to with all its might work towards achieving its target of 300 seats. For this the party has issued a set of "what to do" and "what not to do" guidelines to its cadre, since alertness and hard work become even more important where victory is assured.
