The BJP expresses deep shock and disappointment at the statement of the Prime Minister where he has gone along expressing his reservation over the call of BJYM, the youth wing of BJP to hoist the National Flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on 26th January, the day India became Republic. We are taken aback by the stand taken by Prime Minister virtually siding with those who are opposing hoisting the National Flag and voicing anti India sentiments. It is not only disappointing but the PM has let down the Nation making statement which is unbelievable. Instead of supporting a Nationalist cause & crusade launched by the BJP, the PM has sadly preferred to disapprove of it.
The BJP would like to know from PM whether act of hoisting and saluting National Flag anywhere on Indian soil is Anti National. By voicing such insensitive reaction the PM is emboldening the separatist which will make separatist across and within celebrate. We are still more astonished where an act of hoisting National Flag is being equated by the PM as a scramble to score political points. Is the PM hinting of reverting to the pre 1953 status. It seems the PM has failed to recall that the youth which had commenced the yatra from birth place of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukkherjee will travel across 8 states to reach Kashmir. The Nation would have been happy if PM had been forthwith and supported the flag hoisting as an act of Patriotism to the youth of Nation. We are saddened and dismayed by his statement.
