The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Lok Dal have decided to forge an electoral alliance in Haryana. INLD has also formally joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Our two parties shall jointly contest the forthcoming election to the 15th Lok Sabha in Haryana to be held next year. Guided by the shared goal of ending the misrule of both the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre and the Congress Government in Haryana, it is our resolve to make a clean sweep of the Lok Sabha election. We are confident of getting the support of the people of Haryana in this endeavour.
INLD leader Shri Omprakash Chautala has expressed his full faith in, and strong support to, the leadership of Shri L.K. Advani in the NDA. He has also affirmed his readiness to rebuild the relationship between the two parties in Haryana on the basis of mutual respect and recognition of mutual concerns.
Shri Advani and BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh thank Shri Chautala for his constructive role in forging the BJP-INLD alliance. They gratefully recall Shri Chautala’s unconditional support to the NDA Government headed by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee between 1998 and 2004. Recognising INLD as an uncompromising anti-Congress force, they have described the alliance as a continuation of the close affinity between the BJP leadership and the late Chaudhary Devi Lal, who made a sterling contribution to ending the Congress party’s domination in Indian politics.
In the days ahead, the two parties will conduct joint political activities to mobilise the people against the UPA Government at the Centre and Shri B.S. Hooda’s Government in Haryana. Our joint campaign will highlight the anti-people, anti-kisan and corrupt record of the two governments, their multiple betrayals, and especially the Congress leadership’s failure to contain unprecedented price rise and its unwillingness to fight terrorism due to vote-bank considerations.
