Statement issued by Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, The serial blasts have been rocking the country and the tremor of cold blooded innocent killings has now reached the capital under the very nose of the throne of power of the UPA government. The Bharatiya Janata Party is not concerned with the serial dressing of the Home Minister or his wardrobe, but would certainly like to know who is answerable for the on going bedlam. The PM must clarify whether the NSA who is responsible and accountable to the government for National Security has been actually advocating for strong law on terror or not. The stand of the National Security Advisor should be made public and be made known to the Nation whether the country needs a strong terror law. There are reports that the NSA has made strong plea to enact tough laws on terror like POTA which was turned down by the Home Ministry and had even supported the legislations against terror enacted by (BJP ruled) state governments. If the government has run out of recipe to fight terror why should it not admit and pursue the strong formulations introduced and implemented by NDA government which included POTA as well. It has been reported that the Home Minister was under fire at a meeting held under the UPA Chairperson where other Cabinet partners charged the Home Minister for intelligence failure. The Prime Minister must categorically answer who is accountable, especially when the Home Minister claims the government was aware of possible attack on Delhi much before the intimation made by Shri Narender Modi, CM, Gujarat. The country is not interested in blame game and enough is enough. With this the government has admitted its failure on terror front the PM must clarify whether he still want’s to continue with this Home Minister. The Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav who has been raising dust on the intelligence failure to score a point must first clarify his position welcoming the lifting of ban on SIMI accused of recent blasts through its militant outfit “Indian Mujahidden". The Home Minister has no perception to handle national security and simply because he is loyal to the chair is he qualified to hold the portfolio of internal security. The Home Minister it seems has no commitment to the national security or the Country at large but visibly more to the Congress high command as evident from his recent remarks in public. The BJP would like to know, what is the priority of the Home Minister - the Country’s security or loyalty to Ms. Sonia Gandhi?
