Press Statement issued by BJP National Spokesperson and MP
Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy

The remark of the Samajwadi Party stuns the Nation. While the Samajwadi Party has preferred to ignore the serial blasts which have rocked the Nation killing hundreds of innocent and injuring thousands, by demanding a judicial probe in the Jamia terrorist encounter is nothing but an act of betrayal to the Nation fighting terror. The situation stands aggravated at the flip flop stand of the Congress led UPA singing different tunes on terror fuelling suspicion on their commitment to fight and weed terror.

While SP is challenging the valiant act of Delhi Police who sacrificed a brave officer Mohan Chand Sharma here we have the supporters of the UPA government putting holes in the police action. While the terrorists have taken over the system here we have the Samajwadi Party endeavouring to demolish a valiant act applauded by millions. The rabid attempt of the Samajwadi party to match the Congress Party in its politics of vote bank is a dangerous trend which the Nation has been witnessing for long.

While the lead given by the Gujarat government resulted in tracking of the terrorist responsible for attacks in Jaipur, Bangalore & Delhi now we have the major supporter of UPA alliance attempting to puncture the investigation doubting the veracity of the encounter and arrests made in Jamia. Suspecting the terror investigating agencies is simply an act of demoralization to the police forces. It seems while the terrorists have taken over the system, demands for a probe is a deliberate attempt to embolden those whose sole purpose is strike terror and get away under the garb of victimisation. By doubting the machinery we are simply demolishing the police force which is already sulking and working under confused signals. The protagonists of Jamia Nagar and Azamgarh have now stirred a debate where a categorical reply is warranted from the Prime Minister whose survival in government is hinged on their support.

On Zardari’s Statement

The statement made by Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari describing the militants operating in Kashmir as terrorists is a real welcome statement. This will usher in a new chapter in India – Pak relationship. The remarks perhaps will pave a firm foundation for bridging the divide between the two Nations. It reminds us of the peace initiative endeavoured by Atal Bihari Vajpayee during the NDA regime.
