Press Statement issued by I strongly condemn the serial blasts that rocked the peaceful city of Bangalore today. These blasts in Bangalore underline the threat that we all continue to face from the growing menace of terrorism in India. Dismissing terrorist activities as mere law and order problem by the Centre is nothing but trivializing an issue which has become a global problem. India needs to deal terrorism with a firm resolve and iron will as it is the common man who is forced to pay a heavy price for lackadaisical attitude of the Centre. Ever since the present UPA dispensation has come to power at the Centre serial blasts have rocked different parts of the country. But the Government is yet to come up with a befitting reply. I urge the UPA Government to chalk out an elaborate and integrated Action plan to deal with terrorism in India. BJP promises its whole hearted support to the Government on this issue. I also express my sympathies towards the families of people who died or received injuries in these blasts. Kindly Note : BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh had a telephonic conversation with the Karnataka Chief Minister Shri B.S. Yediyurappa who apprised him of the situation. Shri Yediyurappa told the BJP President that he had convened a cabinet meeting to discuss the situation after these blasts. (Shyam
