The BJP strongly condemns the statement of the Congress Party that Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti is “the other side of the Hurriyat”. This is downright irresponsible and is inline with the partisan policies and politics, which the Congress Party has pursued in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. In fact the complication in that State is mainly on account of shortsighted policy of the Congress for the last so many years which has only encouraged the separatist and anti-India forces and weakened the resolve of nationalist forces.

It is because of this that from a separate State, elements in the valley have graduated to separatism. But, why this perceptional equality only for pure vote bank politics. The Hurriyat is demanding Azadi, its supporters hoist the Pakistani flag, many elements under its banner talk the language of ISI and refuse to recognise the very identity of India and J &K being a part. The Sangharsh Samiti on the other hand raises the slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, have the national flag in their hand and proudly declare that J & K is a part of India and yet, the Congress Party says that both are the same. This is appeasement politics at it worst and an attempt to compromise the symbols of India. It is evident that instead of taking firm stand the Congress Party is conspiring to put Kashmir back during the turbulent days of early 1990s.
